Quality Assurance Analyst: Work Location on-site Tallahassee, Florida. General Experience Expectations: A minimum of three (3) years of systems development, testing, or business experience. Scope of Work/Job Characteristics The Quality Assurance Analysts will serve as the principal line of communication for the project team. The duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows: • Develop and execute formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality software applications. • Participate in test planning, writing test cases/scripts, test case automation, and executing these tests. • Define and track QA metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results, and test status. • Collect and analyze data for software process evaluation and improvements and integrate the improvements into business processes. • Document all identified problems and assist in the resolution. • Deliver quality process training to technical staff and act as an internal quality consultant to advise business or technical partners. • Perform quality audits across various IT functions to ensure quality standards, procedures, and methodologies are being followed. • Create a wide variety of technical publications, including instructional materials, technical manuals, and product documentation for use by both the IT and business community. • Maintain all project artifacts and other documentation as necessary in accordance with standards to ensure compliance and QA. • Serve as a liaison with users to understand and translate their needs into QA strategies. • Follow a standard set of practices that ensure the integrity and quality of project artifacts. • Manage expectations of diverse stakeholders and provide regular briefings to executives on quality issues and outcomes. • Work independently and as part of a larger cross-functional team to ensure quality is maintained throughout all stages of the software development lifecycle; and • Assist with project coordination, support, and documentation to maintain continuous quality improvement. Education Requirements A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent work experience is required. Required Qualifications • Demonstrated experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, and methodology development. • Ability to document user stories and write business IT system requirements. • Experience coordinating business users, technical staff, and architects to analyze and define future needs and operations based on use cases and analysis of alternatives. • In-depth knowledge of business process design and re-engineering. • Ability to coordinate project teams and effectively conduct initiatives to meet overall objectives. • Experience communicating and working within cross-departmental teams while displaying strong collaborative skills. • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and Excel. • Experience preparing status reports and providing management briefings. • Strong leadership, negotiation, organizational, and project management skills. • Excellent verbal and written communication and editing skills. • Experience with meeting facilitation and documentation. • Proficiency in various programming languages, such as Java, Python, or C#, depending on the technology stack of the company. • Knowledge of software development methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, Kanban); and • Experience with software QA tools and processes, including automated testing tools like Selenium. Preferred Qualifications The Candidates to have the following experience, skills, and/or knowledge for this position: • Certification in QA from a recognized body, such as the American Society for Quality (ASQ). • Certifications like the Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE) or the Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA) are highly desirable. • Proficiency in QA tools, such as Selenium, Hewlett Packard (HP) Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), and JMeter. • Experience working on state or federal government projects with an understanding of the specific quality standards and regulations required. • Experience collaborating with software development teams to identify system issues and solutions. • An analytical mindset with the initiative to solve complex problems with a proactive approach to QA. • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Knowledge of IT standards, QA best practices, and security protocols, particularly in sensitive industries such as criminal justice. • An energetic and team-oriented attitude with a diligent work ethic; and • Ability to meet or exceed deadlines, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and organize and prioritize activities.
